Ellis Athletic Center is committed to helping you meet all of your fitness goals! Our personal trainers are here to help you make it happen. Whether you want to shed a few pounds, train for a race, or sculpt your muscles, they can tailor a fitness program that helps you do it. Our trainers know how to keep you motivated with programs that help you start to see results in the mirror sooner, and they’ll keep your workouts interesting by switching up your program and keeping you challenged. If you’ve tried other gyms before but didn’t get the results that you wanted, it’s time to meet with one of our personal trainers at Ellis Athletic Center and kick-start your fitness journey.

Becca O’Donnell, Fitness Director

Certified Personal Trainer
Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from East Carolina University

Training Philosophy: Diversity and Consistency. I believe that changes in routine can help with progression and reaching goals. Small changes in daily habits can be the difference maker in reaching those goals. I love to change up my clients’ workouts so they are excited and challenged every time they come to Ellis.

Favorite Fitness Activity: Weight Training mixed with intervals of running.

What motivates me: No matter what fitness circuit and workout I create for my clients, they keep coming back from more. I love to see when my clients work hard, their hardwork and dedication motivates me through my own workouts.

Willie Owens

Certified Personal Trainer

Education: The Pennsylvania State University, Exercise Sports Science

Training Philosophy: Training is not just about pushing weight.  It is listening, encouraging, and coaching.  More isn’t always better, and pain doesn’t equal a good workout all the time. Calculated caring progression is key, and remember the scale doesn’t tell the whole story.

Favorite Fitness Activity: I love running sprint intervals, and stadium steps and occasionally I like to do chest workouts. 

What motivates me: Philippians 3:14, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Fun Fact: I am a published author with my book in the library of congress.


Lori Sarne

Certified Personal Trainer

Education: Holy Family University -Elementary & Early Childhood Education (retired teacher of 12 years)

Training Philosophy: Working out should be fun! I am always researching new exercises to keep my clients and class participants interested and motivated. I prefer free weights, stability balls, a Bosu, bands, and body bars over machines for a total body workout. Incorporating core and agility training is one of my favorites as well. I’m not a fan of body weight scales and measurements. The true test is in the change that my clients see in the mirror.

Favorite Fitness Activity: I like doing anything active such as walking, running, playing softball, swimming, taking group fitness classes and of course creating my H.I.I.T. Circuit Workouts.

What motivates me: I am motivated by my kids. They are both tremendous athletes. I am also motivated by my clients. I know how hard they work every day. I won’t lie, I love to eat and that in itself is a big motivator.

Fun Fact(s): I love turtles, cats, and reading. I may have a slight addiction to sneakers. I met Tony Hawk in the early 90s.


Marissa Perreira

Certified Personal Trainer

Education: B.S. (Fitness Management/ Business Administration) M.S (Exercise Science/ Rehabilitative Sciences)

Training Philosophy: Taking small steps every day towards your goals will help you maintain a steady course which will lead you to your ultimate outcome.

Favorite Fitness Activity: Spinning

What motivates me: The ability to help others discover the strengths within themselves.

Fun Fact: I love playing Mas in Trinidad Carnival.


Justin McKeown

Certified Personal Trainer

Education: Currently studying a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics at West Chester University.

Training Philosophy: Nothing beats the basics! Learn how to properly utilize the weight room using free weights, machines and barbells. Feel comfortable doing so and enjoy the process! My goal is to make fitness fun for you!

Favorite Fitness Activity: Bodybuilding

What motivates me: Not being the same person I was the previous day, week, month or year. I always want to improve.

Fun Fact: I became a personal trainer at age 18 while still in High School!


Tyler Pettine

Certified Personal Trainer

Education: Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Cabrini University

Training Philosophy: High Intensity Training can be your best friend. You do not need to train for hours on end to see results; if you are willing to put in the small amount of time but hard work and dedication anyone can see changes in their health and wellness journey. Everyone has 30 minutes a day to dedicate to their health. Simplicity=Efficiency! 

Favorite Fitness Activity: High Intensity Training with weights

What motivates me: God, Family, and Friends motivate me to be the best possible version of myself everyday. Each day we get a chance to make an impact in world; whether that is simply just saying ‘hi” to someone can change their entire day. I chose to make an impact everyday by helping others achieve their health and wellness goals, and that motivates me to not forget about reaching and achieving my own fitness goals.

Fun Fact: I love anything outdoors; camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, hunting, biking, running, etc. Just anything to enjoy the great world around us and fresh air! Also Mike Pettine, Defensive Coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, is my dad’s cousin. 


Mike Tribuiani

Education: Currently studying for a bachelors of Health and Wellness Management at the University of Wisconsin 

Training Philosophy: I look at training like a oak tree. In order to grow strong and healthy, you need a good root system. Without a solid foundation to build off of, no matter how big or strong a tree may appear, a storm would still uproot it. Only when you’ve put in the time and effort to build those roots, will you be able to become the best version of yourself! 

Favorite Fitness Activity: Training as a professional athlete would. Strength, Power, Speed, Functionality. 

What motivates me: Helping others to achieve their goals and seeing their results first hand. The strive to be better than I was the day before. 

Fun Fact: I have actually trained one on one with a select few of professional athletes!
